Many Bajorans speak at different times of the importance of their faith in the struggle against the Cardassians. The Cardassians were doing all they could to stamp out the religious faith that bound the Bajoran people together in this period. She is somewhat resentful that the more kinetic aspects of resistance against the occupation are given the sole credit, rather than it being accepted that there was more than one way to resist the occupiers. I don't think she believes she's better than the resistance.
